01 · Automatic does not mean hidden
Hectr is designed to reduce manual input by using signals you authorise from the phone, watch, motion sensors, connected health services and optional camera. The app must show a system permission request before it can access protected camera, photo, health or sensor data.
02 · What the camera may capture
When you deliberately enable a camera feature, Hectr may process live frames, photos or video containing your body, movement, exercise equipment and visible surroundings. Depending on framing, other people, voices, screens or personal items may also appear. Avoid capturing anything you do not want processed.
03 · How capture is used
Camera and sensor signals may be used to classify exercises, estimate repetitions and sets, assess timing and movement, prevent duplicate records, produce a workout summary and diagnose feature failures. Processing may occur on the device and, only where needed for the requested feature, on encrypted controlled infrastructure. Outputs are probabilistic estimates.
04 · Storage and deletion
- Transient frames needed only for live processing should be discarded as soon as processing completes.
- Temporary uploaded or unselected camera media is deleted within 30 days.
- Media you explicitly save remains until you delete it or delete the account.
- Derived workout records remain with your account and follow the retention schedule in the Privacy Policy.
- Encrypted backup copies roll off within up to 90 days after primary deletion.
05 · Your controls
You can deny or revoke camera, photo, motion and health permissions in iOS, Android, Apple Watch or Wear OS settings. You can delete saved media and workouts in Hectr and delete the account through Settings → Account → Delete account. A revoked permission prevents new access but does not itself delete data already saved.
06 · Bystanders and location rules
Use the camera only where recording is allowed. Frame the shot to minimise bystanders, follow gym or venue rules, and obtain consent where law requires it. Do not use Hectr to record private conversations, changing areas, minors or anyone who reasonably expects privacy.
07 · Identity and AI limits
Hectr does not perform face recognition, create biometric identity templates, sell camera data, or use camera media for behavioural advertising. Images or video are not used to train general-purpose AI models unless Hectr first provides a separate, specific explanation and obtains an explicit opt-in that can be withdrawn.
